Winter Tours in Hakuba with Evergreen
Evergreen offers professionally certified guides for backcountry ski and snowboard tours in the Japan Alps. Our tours vary by ability, and for our advanced backcountry tours we require that you have prior experience in the backcountry, certified avalanche training, proper avalanche safety and rescue equipment, and that you are in good physical condition.We also offer family tours: snowshoe and crosscountry ski in the Hakuba area, evening snowshoe tours, on-mountain guiding and even sledding can be arranged.
On-Mountain Guiding:
Our on-mountain guiding service finds the best Hakuba ski and snowboard runs based on your ability. Make the most of your time on the Hakuba slopes by getting to know the mountain like a local.
Backcountry Tours:
Hakuba's surrounding mountains have endless backcountry terrain for all abilities. Our backcountry guides are all fully certified and we have different routes depending on your level.
Avalanche Training:
Beginning to advanced avalanche courses, training & certification. Evergreen is the number one English provider of avalanche safety and resuce skills in Japan.
Snowshoe Tours:
If you can walk you can snowshoe; see the best views of Hakuba and escape the crowds with a guided forest snowshoe tour. We make an easy outing for a family and you couldn't do it cheaper by yourself. We also offer evening snowshoe & fondue tours, a nice way to spend an evening with family or friends!
Evening Snowshoe & Fondue Tours:
We at Evergreen would be happy to guide you under the bright stars of Hakuba. The walk is not strenuous, but just enough to work up an appetite for dessert fondue in a specially crafted snow shelter called a Kamakura in Japanese. It is not unusual to see wild badgers, rabbits, fox, mink and Kamoshika (Japanese mountain goat) while hiking on our tours.
Cross Country Tours:
Tour around the 1998 Olympic cross-country course, or another scenic cross-country ski area. Explore the silence of the winter forest and discover the fun of cross-country skiing.

Cultural Tours:
We offer cultural tours throughout the Nagano region: Matsumoto castle, Zenkoji temple, Jigokudani (the "Monkey Onsen"). . .
Daycare:
For young children that may not be ready for the slopes just yet, kids who can't manage a full-days skiing but whose parents can or those kids just wanting to have fun playing indoors and out, daycare service is available from 18 months.
